Applying TRV for my overseas spouse

Hi,

I'm a Canadian PR currently contemplating applying a TRV for my wife who's overseas, and just sponsoring her inland from within Canada. Any tips on how to file a successful TRV application for an overseas spouse? I heard that the process can be quite challenging, especially for PRs and citizens.
