Applying to university almost a year before. Is it beneficial?

Hi all,

Please let me know if I am applying to below universities in Nov 2016 for September 2017 session. Will it be beneficial?
Alberta
Carleton
Concordia
Dalhousie
Ryerson
Simon Fraser

And by what time will they let me know the results..

what course you gonna choose?? normally you get reply within a month. according to their working day,

I have applied to Dalhousie for fall 2017 in mid-October of this year, so it's totally fine... Universities will maximum take 2-3 months to give out decisions.

I think it may depend on the university. Some may have what's called "early decision", and if so you find out faster, and get a decision before the rest of the crowd gets a chance to apply. The universities I've looked at (Mcgill, uOttawa, Concordia - Montreal) don't appear to have that early decision. I am yet to see a Canadian university with the early decision option.

It is totally beneficial to apply early , Some schools will give out decision in 1 month, maximum they will take 3 months... All the schools u have chosen are great. So good luck applying

Maybe it was beneficial, just got my acceptance letter to Concordia.
