I am currently working in Canada on an open work permit and married to a Canadian citizen and recently got the letter of acceptance from the institution I would like to attend. I was just wondering if the fact that I am married to a Canadian citizen will be an issue as one of the requirements for the Student Permit is to have strong ties with your home country. No sponsorship application was submitted to CIC. Any thoughts?

Thank you!

It's really impossible to say for certain. It might or it might not.

Are you from a visa exempt country or a non-visa exempt country? If you are from a visa exempt country then I suspect it won't have an impact. If you are from a non-visa exempt country, then it may have a negative impact.

Thanks for replying. I am from a non-visa exempt country. Would a 'letter of good faith' or anything along these lines be any helpful?
