Applying student visa with family

hello all,

I am applying for Masters in Computer Science, with my family (my wife and my 1yr old son), I have 8yrs work experience.

I want to show the reason that my company is allowing me to go for masters abroad and after returning I will get a promotion, and i want to take my family with me too so that my wife can do part time job and support me while i am studying. I have few questions.

1. How much fund should i show for this case?
2. If i am rejected because i am taking my family, can i bring them after 6 months?
3. If there is any other suggestion that can improve my chance to take my family with me please suggest.

1. you have to show enough funds for tuition for a year + 10,000 for your upkeep +4000 for each accompanying dependent
2. rejection is not based on taking one's family. i applied with my family (spouse and toddler) for my study permit, spouse open work permit and trv for my toddler.
3. since the program is for a promotion, have your employer write a supporting letter, stating that you have their permission to travel for school to return for a promotion. write an SOP stating why you chose the program you are going to study, and why in Canada and not your home country, why you need your spouse and son there with you. in addition to regular documents, add anythong and everything that proves that you will return, house, cars, and other properties.

Hi, thank for your reply, did you get student visa with your family? what is a TRV for the baby? My actual goal is to settle in Canada, I just want to show the promotion reason to convince the officer that i will return back.
What reason can I state that will be strong enough to show that I need my family with me there?

TRV is temporary resident visa. its a vistors visa. the consular doesnt need to know that you wont return. just convince him that you will. well for one having your family there will give you the peace of mind needed to study. knowing that they are close by and okay. and also for moral support as you complete your education. etc
