My wife is just about a month old in canada on a study visit. In six months time I intend to apply for TRV for me and my child. I am planning to put up a water tight application for this visit visa. I do also have travel history to the USA twice and my USA visa still valid. I would like to apply for an open work permit but am afraid that can work aganist me since one of the strenghts am counting on to help boost my application for TRV will be my current job with the modest pay slip I will be attaching hence it might beat logic to apply for an open work permit together with the TRV. My strategy is to apply for TRV without open work permit then once in canada extend my stay then apply for work permit on account of my wife study permit.......offcourse all this is one day with the intention of applying for PR. Thats why I am willing to sacrifice my current job if its possible to apply for a work permit in canada. I know I can extend my visit once in canada but what about applying for work permit once in canada as a surpporting spouse. Any inputs from seniors or any guys who might have gone thro' these help me out here.
