Dear Experts,

I have a question. I am living/working in Canada for a year on work permit and soon am going to receive a COPR. While on Work permit I applied visit visa for my parents, they gave biometrics and were recommended for medicals. They attended all their medical visits and on the final visit due to COVID-19 the IOM closed. Now, that I will be in possession of COPR soon, i was thinking to apply for their Supervisa and perhaps clarify via Letter of Explanation the situation. For Supervisa i am planning to apply online, with a copy of my COPR as proof of PR(no PR card) my recent T4 document, Supervisa medical insurance for my parents for 2 years, an invitation letter and all other necessary documents such as my pay stubs, bank statements, an invitation letter from wife and her pay stubs etc.

Please reply if this is the best approach in this situation and the medical they are going through will be acceptable for supervisa too. your response is highly appreciated. Thanks

Yes you can use the same medical if it was done within the year. Yes you can apply for a supervisa if you qualify.

They are now sending a landing email or you should include the landed COPR. Which ever one your receive.
Thanks Canuck,

I Will be applying as soon as I receive the letter and email, the challenge is getting medical completed, I assume before that CIC will be able to carry out other checks.

Sure you can apply for a super visa for your parents once you have PR.

Note that having the COPR isn't enough to apply. You must have completed landing formalities and officially be a PR before you can submit the super visa application.

Thanks for the response. The COPR issued now a days for inland applications are completed with landing document. All we need to do is to send COPR with photograph to apply for PR card.

also the letter and email states that this is the confirmation that you are PR residence and this letter can be used to claim any benefits for PR residence where required.
