Hi,

I have applied for PR in may 2009 with NOC code 2173. As my NOC doesnt come in 38-Job list, it will get rejected. Now I am thinking of higher studies. I got offer from 2 business schools also. I want to know if I apply for student visa while my PR in process, will my student visa get accepted or rejected?..Will it be tough to get student visa?..
Thanks in advance.

I would say that even if your PR application gets rejected, it should have no significant impact on your application for a student visa. If you browse the cic website, there is a statment on "dual intent" which should clarify things for you.

And anyhow if you complete a post graduate education program in Canada you are elegible for a work-permit. This point to the fact they encourage students to stay on in Canada since they have first hand exposure to the Canadian way of life!

Hi,

I heard that if you fail to satisfy visa officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your period of authorized stay, they will reject your visa. When you apply for student visa while your PR is in process, it does mean that you dont intend to leave canada after your studies. Visa officer can question you that as you have already applied for PR, how can we be sure that you will leave canada after your studies?... So in this case, how visa officer will give you student visa?

Thanks in advance.

Hi , I applied for PR under spouse sponsorship. Its still under process. But now I got admission for PhD and applied for student visa. will it be rejected?

Hi,
Usually it makes it realy difficult to get visa for other intents if you have applied for a PR.
Though when we had applied for PR (sometime back) and our application was under process, my wife did get a temp visit visa for attending a conference.
I think all depends on your circumstances, like what job you are doing, where you are residing (country), $$ you have in bank, etc etc....

There is a chance of getting a student visa if your PR application is still in process. I applied for student visa while my PR application was still in process and got a student visa. Not long ago I also got a request for add. docs for PR too...
So, there is possibility of getting a student Visa..
