Applying for PR through common-law (missing information)

So I’m an American citizen trying to apply for pr through common-law (my partner is a Canadian citizen) through the portal. When I started the application I listed my partner as my common-law, but as I’m filling out form IMM0008 it’s listing him as my dependent and will not let me continue even after filling out all his information. The portal continues to say it’s “missing information “ and will not let me continue. Please help!

Post your questions to the Family Sponsorship section of the forum.

You should not be listing your common law partner as your dependent. Your CL partner is the one sponsoring you and is not a dependent in the application.

When I delete him as a dependent, it won’t allow me to mark my marital status as “common law”. It states to add, CL spouse or dependents on the file
Post to the Family Sponsorship section of the forum. That's where you'll get the best advice on this topic. I'm not familiar enough with the online forms to tell you what you are doing wrong.
