Hi there, I'm looking to put my mind at rest regarding this subject as I've read different opinions from different sources and really read anything concrete.

My IEC visa ends on 5th May. I'm still waiting on my eca to be returned which has taken a while, so I'm just considering my options if it gets returned really late. Hopefully all goes well and it won't, but just in case!

What I want to clarify is whether or not I can apply for PR, and so forth a bridging visa, if I apply for an ITA and don't receive a nomination until after my IEC has expired, at which point I will be on a visitor visa for around a month.

Also I have heard that your points may drop if my IEC expires and I apply as a visitor? Is this rubbish or is there some truth in this?

Thanks for your help!

Hey! Did you get any information on this? I am currently in the same boat - IEC is expiring and currently applying to change status to visitor visa so I can remain within the country legally....
Have my PR application ready to go but for some reason the website won't let me transmit and pay (For a week now) and I am resorting to Plan B

You can stay in Canada as a visitor while your PR application is being processed. However you can't apply for a bridge work permit once your current work permit expires.

Can I apply for another IEC once I submit my application for the visitor's? I have 2 passports, I read that this is possible. Just trying to figure out the quickest (and legal) way to get back to working

Thank you!!! You wouldn't happen to know anything about this online service issue would you? It seems like everyone else who' experienced it had it resolved within a few hours or days, but it's been a week for me.
IRCC always has random glitches with their website. Have you tried all the usual tricks. Clear browser cache, use incognito mode, use a different browser, use a different computer. If all fail, contact their tech support.
