Hi there

I am on a PGWP in Canada which is reaching its lifetime soon. Therefore, I want to keep my status legal in Canada. To do that, i have already created a profile in Express Entry but my CRS score is very low (428) and when i created the profile i also expressed my interest in receiving the OINP invite by checking the box. Now, do i have to create a profile in the OINP portal? I am a bit confused about the process on how it works with PNP if i already have an EE profile and what happens after i receive the nomination from the province.

Can anyone please guide me?

Thanks in advance

There are two ways that you can get nomination for OINP:

1. After creation of EE profile, based on your background (score, work experience and language proficiency), you may get a notification of interest (NOI) from OINP. Then you apply for nomination from province under one of the three categories:
  1. Human Capitals Priorities Stream (HCPS)
  2. French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream
  3. Skilled-Trades Stream
For this, keep your EE profile up-to-date (work exp, language tests and education).

2. If you think you qualify under one of the three categories below:
  1. Employer Job Offer Streams: Foreign Workers Stream; International Student Stream; In-Demand Skills Stream
  2. Entrepreneur Stream.
  3. Masters and PhD Graduate Streams.
then you can create a profile in the OINP e-filling portal and then register an expression of interest. After that, you may receive an ITA, at which point you may submit an application for a nomination under one of the above programs that you expressed interest in.

If you get nominated under 1. then you submit an EE application to IRCC. During which your nomination would contribute to 600 additional points to your EE profile.
And if you get nominated under 2. then you submit a nonEE application along with your nomination certificate to IRCC using PR portal (online). There are no points involved in this case.

Refer to this for more details.
