Hello everyone!
I'm going to just get straight to the point: I am confused.
I think this is a common trait of most people that find themselves posting on this forum, and I am hoping that someone can provide some assistance!
I am a 21 years old US Citizen looking to get permanent residency in Canada while I am currently here for the 6 months allotted to visit my wife.
We have been married since May of last year, and have not lived together for more than 6 months, as we live relatively close to one another across the border. As of now, I am currently residing in Canada with her, and looking to apply for permanent residency to stay here.
What do I need to know, and what would be the most effective option for me to be able to apply, either inland or outland, and still be able to stay in Canada with my wife while the application is being processed?
Alternatively, would it be a good idea to acquire a work permit before applying for permanent residency?
Thanks to all in advance!
