Applying for Open Work Permit

Good day!

I would like to ask for your guidance and assistance regarding my present situation. My work permit will end this April 1, 2015. However, last October 23,2014 i already processed my Canadian Experience Class (CEC) under the category of NOC 4214 and right now I am still waiting for the response. Below are my inquiries:

1. Will i be allowed to apply for OPEN WORK PERMIT although my CEC is still in process?

2. Will i be allowed to apply for OPEN WORK PERMIT eventhough I am still waiting for my FILE NO.

You can wait till Feb and apply for the BOWP once you get the file number.hopefully you should get ur file number by that time.if you don't still get ur file number you can apply by writing a clear explanation letter.

In absence of the file number (AOR) use the paper application option that would allow you the extra time before the CIC processes your BOWP application.

My guess would be that there might be an option to apply for WP with an ITA (I am not entirely sure though) but definitely not just with an EE profile number.

I maybe wrong though.

That would be the only time you could apply for a bridging open work permit : )

2. Will i be allowed to apply for OPEN WORK PERMIT eventhough I am still waiting for my FILE NO.

Technically, no, you are not eligible for a bridging open work permit (BOWP) until you receive your AOR (with the file number). But you have plenty of time before your work permit expires, so as long as your application was complete, you should get the AOR and be able to apply for your BOWP.
