Hi! Asking for a friend who is 3 months away from PR card expiry, would it make a difference to apply with the current PR card or wait till the PR card has been renewed (i.e. wait 2-4 months)? Essentially, is the NEXUS application tied to the validity period of the PR card on file? I assume not. But what if the PR card expires while the application is in "Wait for conditional approval", would it automatically be rejected as the PR card on file has expired? Asking for advice keeping in mind the current application wait times.

1. The friend is not applying for Canadian citizenship anytime soon
2. Current non-Canadian passport is valid till NOV 2024
3. Located in Vancouver area, so enrolment office will be Blaine, WA.
