Hi everyone,

My sister in law wishes to get a job here in Canada and I am helping her out with her immigration application to see what would be the best way for her.

Here is her situation:

Shes a citizen of South Korea
She's a Registered Nurse NOC Code A 3012
She has 5 years experience
2 bachelor degrees
Her sister is here in Canada.
She wants to immigrate here to Nova Scotia
She is 35 years old.
She is probably somewhere between a CLB 7-8 she is studying IELTS right now.

We are trying to figure out the best way. She does want to do her masters in nursing as well eventually. She would like to do it part time while working here but if there is no other way then she wouldn't mind applying for graduate school and studying here for 2 years full time before.

Here in NS we have a major shortage of nurses and it's a very in demand job. I was thinking that she try and apply to NS health first to see if she can get a job offer. But I assume they may not want to do that due to the time it would take her to come here.

Anyway, if anyone could help and provide some assistance or what you think her best option would be we would greatly appreciate it.

She needs to go through a certification process before her nursing credentials will be recognized in Canada and before she will be eligible to work as a nurse in Canada. Recommend you start by researching this process. I don't believe she will be able to get a job offer until after she has gone through this process.

Thanks! I also found this after posting. I will work with her in gathering the materials to start licensing. Looks like we have to transfer her education over here first before looking at the licensing exam. From what I read the process can take a while.
