I'm applying for residency under the Family Sponsorship Program and am looking to also apply for an Open Work Permit, which I will submit with my residency application. My only problem is that I'm not sure if I'm looking for the right forms online. Is it the Guide 5553 the correct one? It's all about applying for a work permit but keeps asking questions about my employer but I don't have one yet. I thought that was the point of the Open Work Permit, that I can search for a job once I have the permissions but maybe I'm just missing something.
I am hoping to submit a paper one as my residency will be submitted on paper and then I can send everything together.
