Hi Evan I wanted same information about the STUDY PERMIT. Can we have both WP and SP?

Do let me know the answer to my question too if you can.
As a refugee claimants, you are entitle to receive a student permit it will not affect your work permit but keep in mind you will be paying international fees to the school. Now if you become protected refugees then you pay the same fee as Canadians. So it’s up to you. But you still need to be accepted in a school and get an acceptance letter in order to apply. Hope this help.
I will attach the link where you can get more info

Hi sis/brother,
Did you apply for the study permit ?
I’m still waiting for IRB to schedule a hearing for me, I couldn’t find a job ( I have work permit ) but I got accepted in a 30 week training program funded by government and WorkBC, since the program is longer than 6 months I have to apply for study permit. I’d love to ask which documents shall must I upload? So far I know about the refugee calamine document, work permit, passport, letter of acceptance form DLI institution, NO NEED FOR PAL/TAL.

Note: I’m in a long queue for an immigration consecration but it will take weeks .

1:My question is do I have to collect other documents? If yes, what are they?
2: do I need a proof of fund ? ( I’m in income assistance and unemployed that’s why I got accepted in that program ), so basically the school will write for me how the program is government funded ( all Tuition paid by WorkBC, plus weekly living support 650$ ) that way I would be able to support myself but do I still need a proof of funding or bank statement?
3: do I need a medical exam (I did my refugee claimant medical exam last year ) ?

Thanks a lot.
Much appreciated.

Mandatory Documents IMM 5709 (Application to Change Conditions / Extend Stay as Student), Proof of current status in Canada (your valid work permit), Digital photo and Letter of Explanation. Yes, study permit applicants must show proof of funds, official letter from school confirming Program length, Tuition fully funded by WorkBC, Amount of weekly support & official confirmation letter from WorkBC.
