Applying Bridging Open Work Permit

My work permit is expiring on April 26th, 2015. I have already applied for PR(CEC). I am getting married in Jan 2015 with 3 more months of work permit expiration, there might be hesitation or a delay for my wife spouse VISA. Keeping this in mind, Can I apply for Bridging Work Permit in December 2014. Which is 4 months prior to expiration. Is there any time frame for applying Bridging Work Permit. Your opinion and suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes. Assuming you have your AOR and are in Canada, you can apply for a BOWP within the 4 months preceding the expiry of your current permit. The soonest you could apply would be December 26 2014, but you could apply anytime between Dec 26 up to and including April 26 2015.

Thanks for the reply ! If I am applying BOWP by dec 26th,2014. I will be leaving to india on jan 14th,2015. If am getting my work permit after 14th, when I'm in India. Can I ask some one to mail it to India and Can I travel back to Canada with the new one. Will there will be a problem. Let me know. Thanks.
