Apply visa for new born to visit India

We are planning for a trip to India this November for 7 months. I am yet to apply for Canadian passport.

I have gone through the OCI and entry visa documentation, is it ok to apply for one year entry visa for the baby and apply for OCI after coming back.

Please anyone share your thoughts.

Not relevant to your question but your family needs to call you provincial health plan and advise them that you are leaving for 7 months. Also you must call CRA so they can determine whether you are entitled to CCB or not.

I am aware of informing CRA, and I am not entitled to CCB during the vacation time.

I am just curious to know the reason to report to health serivce.
