Apply spouse work permit for my husband who has study visa refusal record

Hello everyone,

I am foreign worker holding two years employment specific work permit with LMIA under NOC - A, so my spouse is eligible to apply for open work permit.
My husband is from Brazil and got rejected twice for the study permit before.

Is anyone know that do we need to apply for ATIP request for a report about his previous refusal application?
Does anyone has similar experience that can share with us?

The application is not hard but we are both worry about the refusal record ...

Any suggestion would be appreciate, thank you!

How recent are the study permit refusals? What were the refusal reasons given?

To scylla,

It was sent by 2018 Jan 5.

Refusal reasons that not satisfied:
1) Have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to maintain yourself and any family members who are accompanying you during your proposed period of study.

2) Not satisfied that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay:
- Travel history
- length of proposed stay in Canada
- purpose of visit
- personal assets and financial status

I would wait 6 months before applying for the spousal open work permit given he has two recent study permit refusals. When he applies for the SOWP - he will need to overcome the refusal reasons listed in the study permit refusals. This means he will need to show strong ties to his home country, additional funds, etc.
