Hi all,
I have something to clarify for my Study Permit application. Need your help
I am an Indian citizen working in Singapore and I'm a Permanent Resident here, staying with my wife. I studied here for 3yrs and have since been working for 4 years. Now I got accepted in a university in Canada. So should I apply for Study Permit from India or from Singapore? I wanted to do it from India, but when I contacted the same educational consultant who sent me to Singapore, they told me that I have to apply from Singapore itself, because another person's application was rejected when he applied from India as he was staying in Singapore that time. It seems he was told that he has to apply from his country of residence.
I went thru the topics in this forum and found that one person has succesfully applied from his country of residence. Whereas, another Indian's application to Singapore office was rejected, saying there are no sufficient ties to his country of residence (Singapore) and was asked to apply from India itself. I am now confused as to from where should I apply. If i apply from Singapore, will they say that I do not have sufficient ties here? Or since I travel to India only once in a year, will they say that I do not have sufficient ties in India although my parents and relatives and my wife's parents are there?
