Posting under Caregiver so she has a LMIA with a Quebec employer?

In most cases, someone in Canada on a tourist visa cannot start working or simply switch to a work permit without the right conditions. If your friend gets a valid LMIA and a job offer, she may be allowed to apply for an employer-specific work permit from inside Canada, as current policies allow some visitors to do this. However, she still cannot work until the permit is approved.

If she doesn’t meet the eligibility rules or the policy changes, she may need to leave Canada and apply from outside. It’s important to check her exact status, expiry date, and IRCC rules before proceeding, since these policies are time-limited and can change.
What are you talking about?

If your friend is in Canada on a tourist visa, she generally cannot apply for a work permit from within the country unless she qualifies under an open or in-Canada work permit exception. Most employer-specific permits that require an LMIA must be applied for from outside Canada, so in many cases she would need to leave Canada and submit the work permit application through a Canadian visa office abroad. It’s always best to check the latest IRCC guidelines or consult an immigration professional.
