Apply for Visitor Visa when PR application is in process

Hi,

I had previously applied for a visitor visa to Canada and got it approved for 2 years. It has already expired last year. This year I applied for my PR application and it is still in process. I would like to visit Canada again with my family and would like to apply for a visitor visa. Is it ok to apply for a Visitor Visa while my PR application is in process?
