Apply for SOWP before or with Study Permit?

Hi all. I recently got an offer from UWinnipeg for their 2-year Financial Management degree, starting Jan 2022. Both my wife and I are in the US right now. Would it be better to apply for my study permit first and then SOWP (for my wife) later, or should we do them together?

I also really appreciate any opinions how long each of those steps would take.

According to IRCC, for your dependents to be able to accompany you, you have to include them as part of your application.
