apply for PR again

Hello all,

I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask, but I really need some advice. My parents applied PR many years ago, but I'm the only family member who lived in Canada. Now our PR cards are expiring. I heard something about not losing the PR status even when the renewal conditions are not met, but I'm not sure.

In this case, should they give up the PR status and get a 10-year visa? If they did give up, can I apply for sponsorship for them again? I'm worried that if they give up this time, it may be hard for them to get another PR later. Is there any other way to help us out there?

Thanks for all of you anyway.

Try posting your question on the thread for parent sponsorship . I am sure someone there will be able to answer your questions.

Here is the link.

u don't lost your pr status , but if u need a vaild PR card to travel , so yes u need to stay X numbers of days to stay in canada , but are they expire or going to ?
if expire then they need to apply one time travel doc. from canada do not apply vistor visa , use vistor visa entering canada that mean u give out PR status

I have not gotten a chance to come back to this thread because of some travel arrangements.

Thanks MadeInCanada, I will re-post my question in the right thread.

Thanks yata520, their PR will be expired next year. but I'm not sure if they can get travel doc, since they do not meet the residence obligation.
