may be somebody could explain: when I come to Canada (ON) after June - July 2020 does it need for me to stay "physically in Ontario for at least 153 days of the first 183 days immediately after you began living in the province"?
need to stay 3 months or 1 month?
I ask because don t understand this : "
Permanent residence applications approved on or before March 18, 2020

If your application was approved on or before March 18, 2020, but you haven’t travelled to Canada yet, you’re exempt from the travel restriction measures.

Landing appointments will be held by telephone, if possible

We cancelled all in-person permanent resident landing appointments until further notice. All landing appointments will be done by telephone whenever possible. Otherwise, we’ll reschedule them for later.

We’ll contact you by email to let you know when your phone appointment will be. Use the Web form if you need to update your contact information."

Nobody knows what the procedure will be for OHIP once service Ontario locations open up. Yes you still need to meet the residency requirements for OHIP. Residency obligations for health care are unrelated to residency obligations for PR or citizenship. Yes you still need to remain in Ontario for the first 153 days out of 183 days or else you have to reapply for OHIP since you haven’t met the residency requirements for coverage.

It depends on when you come. Most private health insurance policies don’t cover routine care just emergencies. Routine care would be out of pocket. You can bring 3 month supply of Rx medication. Would add that the healthcare system has essentially closed down except Covid. If your wife has health problems anticipate that she will wait even longer to get care. Getting into a specialist can take many months in good times but will be much longer after covid since most appointments and procedures have been cancelled for 6 weeks.

I got my OHIP before my PR but I succesfully asked for a new one following my new status.
You just need to go to at Service Ontario with your COPR.

They have waived the 3 months waiting period due to the COVID situation.
