Just about to send citizenship application this week - family of 4 in Vancouver. We also just sent off our PR card renewal application. By these timelines, it seems plausible that citizenship could be processed before the PR cards!
H.
Good luck :) We sent ours yesterday - married couple also Vancouver.

Be interesting to see how the timelines pan out - but CIC on their website is saying an average of 5 months from application received to getting the oath ceremony, which seems pretty fast.

Here is the normal flow if you have eligible, submitted all required supporting. Its taking anywhere from 7 months to more.

Depending upon your local CIC Office, things could be faster or slower. From the trends, its noticed CIC offices in Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary are processing application quite fast. Whereas, as usual the CIC on east especially in Ontario are the slowest.

The estimated time frame from start to finish given is 7 - 8 months, yet some West Coast offices have done it even less than that too.

Application sent ---> Received ---> AOR ---> In Process ---> Test Invitation ---> Decision Made ---> Oath Invitation

Estimated Days 5 ---> 18 ----> 30 -----> Nobody knows ---> 3 Wks from test --> Within 2 Mnts from Test

thank you Canadiandesi2006! I'm from Toronto. i mailed mine through express post because i thought it would save me a couple of days or so. so would it still be 7-8 months, you think?

I still haven't gotten any AOR from CIC and it's been two months. No email, no anything. My friend applied a month ago and he got an email saying that they have received it. We're both from toronto.

If you check the spreadsheet most people recently get from application received to AOR in the region of 5 to 15 days. So 2 months definitely sounds too long.

Did you send your application by regular mail or by courier?

I mailed it through Canada post express mail with tracking, and it was said after two days that it was delivered. However, i have been waiting for so long for my AOR, constantly checking my email and mailbox for two months and haven't received anything from them. Should I mail in an application again?

I'd try to phone CIC in Sydney and see if you can get a confirmation that they received the application first.
