They will generally send you an email to say that you file is ready for visa issuance and they will send a form with instructions.

I am new in this forum. I am currently awaiting for Pretoria to issue my husband PR. On our last correspondence, We were requested to send them our CSQ (Certificat de Selection Qc) Via email in response to the request or in any other way.
The request was sent on Sept 17th and we replied to it the following day via email.

Is anyone has a suggestion? Should we send them a hard copy as well? Anyone has ever be seen requested his CSQ? What could be the delay before they can get back to us?

Your answers will really help me here.

Hello Rehema,

I actually do not know how they request the csq since all our correspondences are received by our lawyer.

When i got my sponsorship approval, in the letter thety asked us to go ahead and apply for the csq. So we applied to the MIDI.
When we received the CSQ (2 copies), there was a letter attached which said that they have already informed Pretoria about the approval of the csq. But my lawyer did send pretoria one of the copies of the csq.

MissSA10B, Sure. The file was transfered to Pretoria early in March 2015, and was submitted at CIC in Aug 2014. We experienced delays with CIC because of the forms which changed and bacause they needed further information about me.

Zaara0804, I find it strange that they requested of the CSQ as they were supposed to have been informed by MIDI that the CSQ was already granted. The letter we received along with the CSQ stated that Pretoria was automatically informed. It's been a month since they requested and received a copy.

I was wondering if I should just send again the hard copy or pass by there in person and drop it ??!!!

Hi Rehema.

I also applied at the same time as you did and got delayed for the same reasons.

If they have requested the csq and you have already sent them via email then you don't have to worry. They do not acknowledge receipt of emails and there is no point in bothering them again.

You will hear from them once they have finalised your application.

There is something new in my file. They have convoking my husband for an interview. Wonder why but at least something is happening. Based on your experience all, how long should it be required after the interview before they issue the PR.
Also, is it normal that they are calling him for an interview while we are legally married and while we even provided them with proof of marriage... Civil and religious pictures?

Hi, what date is the interview scheduled for? If its still over a month from now it would be a good idea to get your CAIPS notes and find out why an interview is taking place. It could be many reasons, so its difficult to say why. Based on what I've seen, they request your passport shortly after the interview if they are satisfied with what took place in the interview. Abdayo, the interview to take place in a month time, in Pretoria. I will flight back to SA to accompany him to the interview together with our child. They probably want to make sure that the relation is true... Strange but we will comply.
I trust we will be together in Canada fro Christmas and New Year.

Just an update on my side..


We sent the passport on 05 Oct and Pretoria received in on the 7th Oct..However, we still have not got back the passport. Last friday(16 Oct), our ecas status was changed to decision made.

I do not know why it is taking them so long to release the passport

Sorry to ask but what is CAIPS notes?? And how do I request them? Where do I request them?
