I'm glad everything worked out better than you had imagined :). For me no new yet from the embassy :(. Do you have an idea of how long it will take for my medical to reach Pretoria from London? Do they have to receive the medicals before they start processing? What was your experience regarding that?

Don't forget me in your prayers, I need this visa before the end of June.

Have a wonderful time with your wife ;)
hey josephs,
well in my case I did the medicals before I sent the application to CPC-M, and it only got in Pretoria 2 months later. I think the waiting time is 2 months for processing medicals, not so sure about it though..but im pretty sure they will continue processing your application with what they have now until they receive the medicals..
hopefully u will get it by june :) think positive!!!

Just checked my ecas, it says medical result has been received :). It hasn't changed to in process though but I'm sure God is working on it. Getting my visa soon in Jesus Name!

I am new to this forum. We sent our application through Pretoria as well since Feb of last year. I look forward to share my experience with you.
Thanks

That's a long time. Have you checked the ecas or contact the embassy regarding your file? The processing time was 8 months during the period that you submitted.

I know. It is a long time indeed. We have had many setbacks. We have applied originally in October 2010, but the application was sent back because it was incomplete. When the application was sent back, I was not in Canada. I was in SA visiting my husband. Upon my return, I found the returned application. I included the missing documents and re-sent the application for sponsorship. We were given a positive response and teh fiel was sent to Pretoria in mid- February 2011. My husband never heard from the embassy until May 2011 when they sent him the AOR stating that it will take approximately 12 months for the process. In August 2011, my husband received a letter requesting additional documents which we sent. In Novemeber 2011, the embassy sent a letter stating that the interview was waived and my husband need to redo his medical (because the medical exptired) and resent an updated police check. It has been 13months since Pretoria received our file. It is very stressful that they are taking so long. i hope we will get a favorable answer soon.

@ Joseph: Ecas says in process. Maybe I will request the CAIPS note to find out what is going on. I will also contact them. I hear that sometimes they ignore emails if it is within the processng time (CIC website says 13 months). I will try though. It is so hard to be away from my husband for such a long time.

Some guys submitted their application between August and September last year in Pretoria and they already had visa in February. Keep hoping and praying I guess the most difficult part has been done. Since they ask for re-medical that means they are ready to issue the visa.

@ Josephs: Thanks for your response. It is getting very frustrating and discouraging. I also realized that many people applying through Pretoria were approved in less than a year. However, our case is taking so long. In late November, they requested my husband to redo his medical and sent an updated police check. My husband redid his medical and sent the police check early this year. yesterday, my husband gets a call from the embassy advising him that he was sent a letter on January 30, 2012 and the letter was returned. OMG, I cannot believe that. How is that possible that the letter got return. Now, they want my husband to redo the medical of his daughter. REALLY!!! Why couldn't they just ask for both medical at the same time????? we are losing so much time submitting additional documents and redoing thing. anyway, we have no choice but to provide whatever they are asking for. I keep on praying and I konw God will provide.

How about you? Have you heard from the embassy yet.

I haven't heard anything yet but they updated the ecas that they receive my medical results. I am praying and hoping they'll waive the interview and send me the PPR soon.

Just keep the faith alive your husband is almost there.

I am glad they received your medical. I think that it is very probable that they waive your interview. It seems as if most people who were on this forum had their interview waived. Hopefully, your process goes very fast.
On a different note, it looks like there are not many people with application to the Pretoria office on this forum.

welcome sweetmine to the pretoria thread :)

Thanks indianOcean. It is so nice of you to stick around even though you have landed already.

IndianOcean and Sweetime any ideas?

I realized I didn't submit the form IMM5562 that ask for travel history in the last 10 years and the eight passport photographs. My question is do I wait for them to ask for it or send it to the VO anyway? If I don't send it now can it cause a major delay?

I don't think that you need the travel history. I thought it was only required for the Rabat visa office, unless there was a recent change. (I can try to check that again).
I would advise you to send the pictures to avoid delay. it is not going to hurt

Sweetmine you are a life saver, I just read through it again and it only says Rabat office. woohoo PPR is coming in few weeks :).

Have you heard anything recently regarding yours?
