Hi guys, it's been 2 months now I landed in Canada. Happy for all delicious native foods. My wife got her PR card and mine had a problem with my picture (may be because I am not good looking!!). They said that they will send me instructions to go somewhere and take the picture. Have no idea how long it mught take. Weather is good now. liked the comment of Garian4 that there is nothing to compare Canada with USA, although we do it unintentionally once we land here from USA; it will take time to used to the new environment and you will start liking this beautiful country someday. Wish you all goodluck.

Profesional 1, you were a great help all through the process. Thank you for your time and kindness. Sometimes I think may be I should call you someday. Thank you

Congratulations torontonian2010 :)
All the Best.

Hi Guys,

Do you know when exactly the processing times start the visa office starts their counting? Just wondering, Buffalo's processing times says 17 months, if they start counting from the 2nd AOR or the time they acknowledged your application, in my case that is May 2010 which means it is already on its 12th month, leaving 5 more months for the meds request, passport request and visa stamp....or from the time they started to process your application which could be just last month then 16 more months???? ???

Thanks,
Larxace

Count 19.month from the date when you send your application to Buffalo (after Sydney send you letter with 120.days period). From that day you should count.Forget for 2AOR and IN PROCESS ecase status.

I will not be a good person to explain about job hunt in Canada. I am not looking for jobs right now, will finish my study first. And I am staying with my friend, so dont know much about rent. But I heard it is too expensive. May be seniors can help.

Pro1, have you any idea about the photograph thing for my PR card? I have not received any letter from then asking for a new photograph. I knew abt it when asked their customer care center. Can I sent my photo even before I get their letter since I know that the issue is with my letter? I was not in a hurry to get the PR card and was waiting, but now I am in a hurry for some reason. Its been 55 days since I landed. Yoyur response is much appreciated

Hi pearl2010,
I m seeing garian4u got MR, PPR, and visa issued in Oct 2010, everything done for him in exactly 1 yr. You filed exactly after 2 months and you haven't got MR yet. I filed in Jan, 2010 under 0123 category from Buffalo, and got 2nd AOR in Nov, 2010, still waiting for Medical Request. Wondering why I didn't sent my application just 3 months earlier :(
Its so frustrating. Hope God listens to our prayer & Buffalo speeds up the process.

Mate, it varies case to case and we have no way of determining that. I had filed to CIO NS 6 months after my friend and to Buffalo 8 months after him. I got MR in July, PPR in Sep and Visa in Oct 2010. While my friend got MR in Oct 2010 and yet to get PPR. There were not much differences in our case from what I could understand, but I am not the VO, so I don't know what they think.
