LA received my passport on Jan 7 and today it is Jan 28. I have no idea why I am not getting any trace of it. Even my e-cas has not changed.. still "in Process" .... It's killing me guys!!!

Thank you all for the congrats.

Successfully completed the landing process today. Was given the option of either going to an In Land location (has a 4 - 6 week delay) or going to the boarder, so I did it the faster way by going to the US boarder.

I was asked to exit Canada (by going to the US) and reenter to complete the landing process. Went over to the US side, asked the US Imm. Officer to allow me to turn around as I wish to return to Canada to get landed and have no intention of entering the US what so ever. Took them about 30 minutes to arrange this (what a convoluted system).

Returned to the Canadian side, was asked to show Proof of Fund - used my bank statements for this. Asked to provide a Canadian address. Imm. Officer asked me sign the COPR and then informed me to show this at Service Canada to get a permanent SIN and said the PR card will arrive in 30 days.

End of story.... and a new chapter starts .........

Its been a 19 month journey for me and thank you all for your support throughout this time.

My timeline is now updated for your reference........

Congates RahmanRahat. Wish u good luck.
Can you please clarify a bit more about inland landing...u said it takes 6-8 weeks, but for what?
I was planning for an inland landing (in case if I get back my passport!!lol). Your insight will be helpful. Thanks

"Your application was reviewed and we started processing on October 29, 2010. "

The letter that accompanied my passport and Confirmation of PR from Detroit asked to call the CIC call centre to inquire about landing options inside Canada (for current legal residents of Canada only).

I called the CIC call centre and the agent informed me that I'd have to book an appointment to see an immigration officer at an In-Land processing centre to get landed without having to go to the boarder (which involves exiting Canada and reentering) and the current wait time to get an appointment for the nearest centre was 4 - 6 weeks.

Hope this helps.

Hello everyone:

I am a post June 26 applicant, CIO received my application mid Sept 2010, Buffalo is my visa office. I have gone through this thread and noted the time lines for applicants from Buffalo visa office. It seems on average, it has taken an applicant 14-15 months from when application was submitted to CIO at NS, to the time passports were requested.

As you all know, we have to juggle our lives while waiting to hear from CIC. It is extremely difficult to manage things, especially for those of us with children, when you don't know when and if you are given a PR visa.... If the 14-15 month average is correct, I am thinking maybe by Dec of this year we could get our visa request, obviously if our application is not rejected. I wanted to ask the seniors here, if my time line is wishful thinking? Any opinion would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, although post June 26 2010 applicants sent their complete applications to CIO, which is supposed to save them a month or two in processing time, there has been a two month backlog at CIO, so these advantages and disadvantages should wash each other out. Thank you for your comments... it is encouraging to read this thread and see so many success stories.
