Can any one in this forum advise in my situation.
I am for 0213 Buffalo. My timelines are in my signature.
I have not yet received my 2nd AOR, it is 4 months now and never heard from them.
My e-cas still shows Centralized Intake Office Sydney (CIO-S) Eligibility Review Complete .
I have not received any thing either my mail also.

In the month of June, I had sent them some updates in my main application and since then the status changed from "application received" to the one mentioned above. They returned the updated documents and mentioned that once the processing file number is assigned then I can send these documents.

How do u check your applcation status via e cas , it dont let me do teh same. I am also waiting for 2nd AOR # since isend my docs on June 15th.

Yes, Deardhir
The process takes about an hour!
Take the communication you recieved from them, check in with the security at the HSBC building, hand in your passports and required photos, wait while the papers are being produced - recieve them and walk out with a smile.
That simple!

Thanks for the reply.

One more question. How much time does Buffalo Canadian Consulate gives you to submit the passports after you get the PPR. Is it 30 or 60 days?

It was sixty days in my case.
The exact date will be written on the communication(email) you receive from them.

30 days in my case. I recently received PPR.

Congrats nmat :-) Very happy for you. In fact, you know what you are lucky. One of my friends has similar timelines as yours. Infact, he filed to CIO NS in Apr-May 2009, and subsequently to Buffalo in July - Aug 2009. His case got transferred to New York VO on 27th Apr 2010 (much like you)/ His status is still "Received by Visa office". Kinda scary.

Thanks garian4u and thanks everyone. This forum is worth a lot. Now I need to look into the landing related threads.

Yesterday we received our passports with Canada PR visa by mail. One slight issue is that my spouse name is entered wrongly in visa, there is no firstname, last name is entered as firstname + last name and first name is XXXX. Thinking whether to correct it before landing or not.

Congrats this is a well earned news. Since you have the visa's the name should not be a big issue.

You can certainly send them a case specific email pointing out the error.
This may not be a big issue but why take a chance? -after all that effort of getting a Visa - is my feeling

Anyone who landed in the months of July/Aug 2010 got their PR card? I landed on Aug 13 and not got it yet.

I read in a few threads that nowadays it is taking around 8 weeks to get the PR card. I think you will get it this week. All the best.

Here I am dude.. I see that you have got your PPR. Great ! congrats ! I have not got my PR card yet. Btw, I am going to Toronto again on Thursday. As I dont have my PR card, I am driving from Buffalo to Toronto.

Thanks Pasi. Can't you delay your trip by 10 days? ;D That ways I can meet you in Buffalo i.e. if you are planning to drive from Buffalo ;D I will be there from 18th - 19th Oct.

You are right. I was told that we need to get travel document to see if we dont have the PR card. I read through the guide for getting the travel document. It was mentioned that the purpose of the travel document is to show the proof of our status to the transportation company who would be taking us to Canada (flight, train, bus or ship). So I had a doubt and posted this question in the forum and Qorax replied saying if we are driving we dont need the travel document and the COPR would suffice.

See dude, that's why we keep needing inputs from real life experience. I myself wanted to land and turn back for now and had a flurry of questions. I guess your post answered 90% of them :)

Pasi I have a quick question that sbd just confused me. Is it possible to land and have the PR sent to friends' house, I need to come back to US for at least 1 more year before "real landing" to Can? I knew of sbd whom was rejected at the PoE when trying to get in to US (even though with valid unexpired H1B Visa). She has to go back to Can and wait for PR card before entering US.

I believe there should be something wrong in your PR card issue, since july 17 upto date is almost 80 days !!! it says clearly in their website that the PR card processing time for new arrivals is 50 days (once Canadian mailing address is provided) !!

Did you mention at the port of entry that you are going to leave and re enter when you landed, and which mailing address did you provide ?

I think you should call them to figure out !
