Dear friend,
Thank you for expressing your angers on this forum. We are feeling your frustrations and pains, however, the good news is that you are already in Canada and have the chance to own a business or have a job. I recommend that you stay calm and spend your times for other fun stuffs. Detroit has been very nice to applicants and I am sure that they also need attention from us. The generic email that you got from your VO may be due to the content of your email (I am not sure). I do believe that to get anything from them, you have to be gently and soft with your words. Please, try that and see if it works.
I wish you all the best,
Cheers,

I see what you are saying. I agree that the Detroit VO treat their clients better than Buffalo. However, that is no reason for them to slack off at work. As for my emails to them, I can promise you that I have been very "gentle" and "soft" with my words in my email to Detroit.

This is ridicules. I am frustrated. It has been over 12 months since I applied for PR, the file had been sitting in Buffalo for 6 months and they could not complete eligibility review. So these imbeciles transferred the file to Detroit to “expedite” the process. Now its been sitting there for over 3 months again without any movement.

Hi Rahmanrahat,

I'm very sorry for difficulties that you encountered at both visa offices. I'm thinking, if you have a friend who's in Canada, you can ask him/her spend $5 to get CAIP notes for you. In this way, it may help you know about what exactly happened on your case. I will pray for you to get your medical section A soon.

I see, I wish you good luck and let me know if there is anything that I can assist you with.
Cheers my friend,

hi Professional1,

Can you please answer my doubt .How is medical request sent wheather a physical mail or an email is sent and what will be the ecan status. Please reply.

thanks,
sazid

Hi Sajid,

1) lovebb replied to my same query as follows "Hi, I got my medical request through email at first, but the medical form Section A came from regular mail".

2) As far as I have read the post, even after the medical request the status stays "In-Process". I think ecas is updated when they receive the medical results back.

Thanks,
MathCanada

Comes via post as it has the actual forms for you (and any dependents) which you should take to doctors during medicals.
Status stays as "In Progress"

Seniors, got couple Qs for you:
1. My girlfriend lives in Canada and she is a citizen. We've been dating for 2+ years. But that was distance relationship (we see each other every weekend). She does not fall under common law, but we have a lot of shared moments. Would it be helpful if I noticed her in my application?
2. When I just submitted my application I had just a bit 4- years of work expirience. Now it's already 4+. Whould the processing time be considered as work expirience if I noticed that my current work dates are <some date> - Present?
3. I submitted two IELTS test results. Would they pick the best marks out of these two tests or just the best test (i.e., best mark for speaking, best one for listening etc)?
4. I've got my Masters after 16 years of educatoin and spent 2 years for PhD but did not get the degree and quit. Does it mean that I have 18 effective years of education?

Thanks for the support, guys! I currently have 67 points and thinking of sending something else to increase that number.

Cheers my friend,

Beauhoe, once you submit the medicals to Ottawa, how long it is before you contact them to figure out if they have received the medicals?

Secondly, what is the number to contact Ottawa? (to find out about the medicals). Thanks in advance.

Buddy, all I can tell you is have faith. Concentrate on other things (career, life, family, friends) etc. I know it is easier said than done, but believe me nothing in life is worth losing sleep over. I have always believed that whatever happens, happens for the BEST. Keep the faith alive. Wish you all the best. Cheers.

1. Long distance relationship does NOT count. You would have to be living together to make it count.

2. They will pick the best results for your IELTS

3. Yes, 18 years is what you have.

Hello Mark,

My medical was done on March 1, 2010 and sent to Ottawa 7 days later. I contacted Ottawa around 9:35am on April 15, 2010. The lady that I discussed with told me that my file was received on March 18, 2010 and Detroit got my results the same day.
Any good news on your side?
Take care my friend,

Hello every body

Can I get the phone number for the Ontario where I can call and confirm the status of the medical.

Thanks

Friends, today my ecas status has changed to 'Decision Made'. When I clicked on that, I could see the following added - 'A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.' Hoping to get back my passport soon :)
