Hi guys,

I have just checked with my bank, and found out that Buffalo has cashed my "RPRF" money order. I got a printed out proof from the bank which shows the details about cashing the money order.

They received it at Buffalo on Friday: May 14, 2010, and cashed it on Tuesday: May 18, 2010 from the HSBC Bank in New york.

I was surprised that i can even see my visa office file number on the Bank sheet which Buffalo used to cash my money order written clearly by hand along with other stamps and numbers on the same sheet, and the date stamp of cashing the money order. Very organized process !

Thanks man, how is your application progress going !

Contacted Buffalo office couple days ago and found out my file number (for some reason I did not receive it via mail). Now waiting for medicals ...

Which city do you currently live at? Was your file transfered from Buffalo to local office?

I live in Toronto-Canada, my file was not transfered to anywhere else.

Regarding your application, do you mean that your e-case changed to "Received by the visa office" and then to "In Process" without getting an AOR from them ?

My current status is "Received by the visa office". I gor AOR from Sydney, but not from Buffalo. If I click on staus, it shows following descriptoin:

We received your application for permanent residence on October 22, 2009.
We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on December 22, 2009. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
Your application and supporting documents were received by the Buffalo office. They are pending review.
We transferred your application to the Buffalo office on December 30, 2009. The Buffalo office may contact you.

Is the staus suppose to say "In Progress"?

Oh no, do not worry at all, your status is completely normal and updated, even if they have missent your AOR, they already created a file for you and updated your e-case normaly, and even have given you the new file number from Buffalo when you inquired about it i think !

Your e-case will change to "In Process" whenever they start processing your application, i think within a month or two, you are going to hear somthing from them.

Good luck.

hi, my status is the same as you, but my file is transterred to buffalo office on March. You are December and now you are still watiting for "in process", i think i still have a long long way to go ..................................

And I think you will hear good news soon.. :D

Guys, what are the possible status values after in progress and what are the avg times for each status?
1. "Received by the visa office" = 3-10 month?
2. "In Progress" = ??
3. ? = ?
4. ? = ?

I've been having problems getting to the eCAS page on CIC website all week this week. Anyone else having similar issues?

1. "Received by the visa office" = 3-10 month

2. "Visa office eligibility review complete" = immediately (in case of refusal for not being eligible under any one of the 3 categories according to the visa office eligibility review) - in this case the applicant will be eligible for the 550$ refund, and that is why they use this sentence "Visa office eligibility review complete" to distinguish between refused applications that are eligible to the refund of 550$ and the other refusal after it shows "In Process", which does not give a refund to the refused applicants at this stage which their refusal reads as "Decision made".

3."In Process" = No refund if there is a refusal when the e-case shows this word. the time taken in this case varies individually depending on each case. under this link, they update the medicals receipt by adding the sentence "medical results have been received" which means 99% that the application is approved, if not, they never add it even if the results are ok and they received them.

4. "Decision made" = in case of refusal or approval after the e-case status reads "In Process", if it was before the PR it means refusal, after the passport request and submission, means approval (except in New Delhi office because they ask for the passport, medicals, and RPRF all together even before they know whether the medical results are ok or not, but in Buffalo they never ask for the passport unless, they are going to grant the visa.

Hi Rahman,

I am having the same issue...have tried to open ecas several times..just can't get to the web page.
I think it's some technical issue over their servers or they are doing some upgrades on the website.
