I really have no idea about the way Buffalo works ! they even do not follow the instructions in CIC website regarding the time, procedures...and so forth.


For example, asking me to submit a police clearance from canada means literally in CIC website that this step should not be taken before the processing starts. since it says clearly in the OP6 that the admissibility documents should not stop the processing of an application, instead, they can be asked in a later stage after the processing begins.

The second point, i do not know where is the logic of opening any file after sending the AOR if they are not going to process it now, just to search for the Canadian police clearance ! it does not make any sense because this certificate will be very old if they start the processing after one year from asking for it ! and who even bother at the visa office to open the application and check whether there is a police clearance from canada with the submitted documents or not if the processing has not begun yet !

The RCMP fingerprint clearance takes only one day to be processed and sent to Buffalo (i knew these information because i emailed the RCMP asking about the status of my fingerprint application and they replied next day saying that my fingerprint were processed at the same day and the results were sent to Buffalo on the day after), so it took only one day. Therefore what is the point of asking for that document which takes only 1 day if they have not started processing the application !

I found something interesting for you while looking at other people's old CAIPS notes. Buffalo often does background checks first before doing eligibility review or IA for people from the Middle East and other Muslim countries like Pakistan.

Are you from the Middle East or other Muslim countries like Pakistan or Afghanistan? The other guy I was talking about was also from a Muslim country. So the background check might have delayed his processing, I guess.

Even if that is the case, the RCMP fingerprint clearance is only related to the security checks inside canada and does not extend to anywhere else. I have already submitted 2 police clearance from 2 different countries and one non - conviction certificate with my application.

Therefore, i do not see that they ask for the RCMP fingerprint to check your security background outside canada because the purpose of that fingerprint is only to check whether you have been fingerprinted in canada for any criminal records or not.

As you see, the results were processed and submitted to Buffalo only in one day, so no any other third party was involved in the process such as foriegn countries....and so forth, otherwise, it would take long time to get responce from those countries or governments and it has nothing to do with the background "middle east" or anywhere else because you will have to submit your police clearance certificate from each country you have lived in regardless your background or country, and they will double check those documents to make sure that they are not fake.

Do not forget as well that they have done a detailed security checks about us at their embassies before they grant us the student visa to canada, so they have done many security checks about us before we arrive to canada.

"Missing documents / information related to admissibility: Any documents or information required to complete the admissibility review should be requested once SELDEC is passed. Missing admissibility documents should not hold up the final determination of eligibility or selection review".

So even when those documents are missing, they keep going in processing"final determine of eligibility" the application and ask for them later, so they do not ask for them if the processing has not begun.

It means they do not ask for it if the application is not being processed yet.

Yes, inform them as soon as possible by sending them the related documents along with an explanation letter specifying the update. Do not wait for their request if the documents are ready.

My prediction came true. The other guy on trackiit.com has just received his medical request a few days after receiving the second generic response: "Your app is in process...."

No it does not matter. Most probably if they transfer your file it will go to Detroit.

So you're the only guy I know who has received the second generic response twice in the last three months but is still stuck in Buffalo with no status change. The other guy who received the same response in Jan, his file was transferred to Detroit last week. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the fact you're from a Muslim country. It's probably not your time yet. You just applied in Oct or Nov. last year, right?

bravoo, do you mean that you sent your full application to Buffalo in Sep, 2009 ? if yes we have the same timeline, but i got request for "RCMP" clearance from canada. Have you got any email from them since you received your AOR ? By the way, i selected New york as a choice if an interview is required. However, in the new Buffalo checklist form, i do not see anymore that they offer that choice to select where you would like your interview to be conducted.

I already submitted my canadaian police clearance report(RCMP)and fingerprints with my full file to buffalo ,maybe that s why they are not asking for that BUT my fingerprirnts were not digital they were manual, I did not know about digitals at that time.

Just got my medicals in the mail guys. Had a question though. The "Marital Status" box mentions my status as Divorced even though I'm married (happily!!). Anyone knows how to get it corrected? Any need to correct it?

They send me something after a long long time and the form has errors in it.

That sucks!!
