Wow I have got my AOR from Buffalo on October 10th 2009. I now see several people are transferred to different visa offices to expedite their process. However, I have not heard anything back yet. There was no communication on my case. should I assume that they have kept my file with Buffalo and trying to process it. It was so frustrating to wait for 10 months without any response and now it is even more frustrating as you know everyone is moving except you.

BARDCIR:

we have the same timeline. May 2009 - CIO.. July 09 - Buffalo and received my AOR August 09.
ECAS still shows `RECEIVED BY VISA OFFICE.

what is happening to August 09 applicants :(

Not to worry, I'm sure they'll get to your files very soon. Have faith.

Hey guys.

i am also in the same boat..... its really frustrating now.....especially seeing buffalo consulate transferring files just randomly...

After reading the comments, ya realize that waiting can be a frustrating experience. However, it is also very important to have faith and keep your sanity intact in such situations. Eventually, things work out for THE BEST. Keep ya faith alive everyone. Cheers

Hi Everyone,

I believe Mark is right. Buffalo's activities seems to be like a roller coaster. After a long quiet period, it will suddenly make a jump. I hope the Next jump would affect our applications. Good to keep each other posted meanwhile.

Best of luck to everyone

Very True..

Could someone please guide me on my situation. I had originally filed the application Federal Worker Class category. But I have the offer from Canada and getting mywork permit in couple of weeks. The plan is to move to Canada mid-June..

How can I apply the updates to my file for which I received the new file number from Buffalo ? Suggestions please

I received my AOR from Buffalo today. Here are my time-lines.

Initial application sent to NS: 23 September 09
Approval from NS: 19 November 09
Documents sent to Buffalo: 23 February 10
AOR from Buffalo: 14 April 10
Category: FSW1
Job Code: 0213

I have a few of questions.

1. The email says "Before your application can be placed in processing, a determination will be made as to whether or not you are eligible for processing.". Does this mean that they have not even opened the application to at least check that it has all the required documents? I was under the impression that if they find the application incomplete, then they send it back and do not even send an AOR. Please let me know what's correct.

2. I tried to use the new file number sent in the email to check the status online, but it does not show the status. Does it take a few days for it to be available online?

3. I am able to check the status using the file number received from NS, but it does not show that the file was transferred to Buffalo, or anything like that. Does this also take some time to get updated, or will this remain the same and the new file number will show the current status?

Thanks!

Once you reach Canada, and have new address then use the back side of the form (the one which you got from buffalo having your new AOR no#)

Send the thru email : buffalo-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca

Attach the copy of filled form(Change in Personal Information - Mailing address Notice), proof of your legal entry in canada (Visa copy and work permit copy)

thats it...

good luck

Hi deardhir
My time line is exactly the same as ur's
i still hasvn't recieved anything from buffalo yet,i submitted my documents to buffalo on 28 feb...
so expecting it really dis week...

Hi guys, I want to ask you if there's any difference between the two generic responses from Buffalo: "Your file is in a queue awaiting initial assessment. This could take upto 64 weeks from the date we received the application" and "Your application is in process. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete." Some people got the latter and some of them are misled to believe that their application's status is "In Process". So one of them asked IO at Buffalo if there is any difference between them and got the response that there's no difference: "In processing and in queue are the same thing, your file has been accepted and created, (processed), it is currently in a queue awaiting initial assessment." So the end of the story. But despite all this, some people with the second generic response still want to believe their app is "in process". What's your take on this? What does your experience tell you about this? The recent random processing in Buffalo threw us off, and why does Buffalo further confuse us by using two different generic responses? What's their intention?

googleman,

I really have no idea about the way Buffalo works ! they even do not follow the instructions in CIC website regarding the time, procedures...and so forth.

For example, asking me to submit a police clearance from canada means literally in CIC website that this step should not be taken before the processing starts. since it says clearly in the OP6 that the admissibility documents should not stop the processing of an application, instead, they can be asked in a later stage after the processing begins.

The second point, i do not know where is the logic of opening any file after sending the AOR by 7 months if they are not going to process it now, just to search for the Canadian police clearance ! it does not make any sense because this certificate will be very old if they start the processing after one year from asking for it ! and who even bother at the visa office to open the application and check whether there is a police clearance from canada with the submitted documents or not or whether this person needs a police clearance from canada or not if the processing has not begun yet !

The RCMP fingerprint clearance takes only one day to be processed and sent to Buffalo (i knew these information because i emailed the RCMP asking about the status of my fingerprint application and they replied next day saying that my fingerprint were processed at the same day and the results were sent to Buffalo on the day after), so it took only one day. Therefore what is the point of asking for that document which takes only 1 day if they have not started processing the application !

pro 1,

I think that if you send an email to Buffalo now, asking about your status, you'll receive the second response: "Your application is in process. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete." I have done some research. I have googled the second generic response: "You app is in process...." at trackiit.com and I have come to the conclusion that Buffalo doesn't fire the two responses indiscriminately. It seems they are two different generic responses. They mostly sent the second one to people who had already sent their medicals or had been requested for additional documents, or whose status were about to change to "In Process".

hi all
well, as for my case I applied in september 2009 and I mailed buffalo in Jan to ask about my case and they replied in the same way " your case is in process......." then I mailed them couple of days back and received the same response. no update no status change.

So I Thinks this mail template does not make any sense or any good sign that things gona go fast.

It may not mean anything, but the majority of the people who received this response had already sent their medicals or had been requested for additional documents, or their status changed soon to "In Process". There was another guy like you on trackiit.com but his file has been transferred recently.
