Yes, I have my PhD and applied as a university professor. My file got transferred to Detroit in (Oct 2009) after sitting with Buffalo for a whole year (Since Nov 2008). Processing got delayed since I was asked to submit some additional documentation, which I did. I am now waiting for the medicals and subsequent processing any day now.

Hi,I forgot to add my letter from CIO-NS when I send my full docs, I sent an email to Buffalo following is the reply

Please allow at least 30 weeks between our receipt of an application and its return to you or our sending of the acknowledgment of receipt letter.

Please wait until you hear from us with further instructions and do not contact our office or send in any further documentation during that period.

30 weeks, ND is issuing visa in this time. I am surprised by updated processing time statistics posted on line which says Buffalo is processing application in 8-10 months.

@mpapdp.1984
thanks for your reply

@zulkfal

dont worry....they ask for this much time so that u dont send them email again and again.....i think it doesnt matter-when they are sending you AOR....people who applied in 2008 use to get their AOR in months and in 2009 many people got their AOR within week......but buffalo processing time didnt chnage....

i dont know.....how can they post false processing time on their website........and what type of media exist here....no news

Hi Roopa,

Thank you for the information, so its like case to case bases. If you find any other information please post it.

Those who have got their 2nd AOR from Buffalo by email, can you tell the email id from which it comes?

Just got an email from buffalo today: they have transferred my file to Detroit for "faster processing". Any further correspondence will be with Detroit and not Buffalo. No status update inquiries should be made in the next 90 days.

My timeline:
App to CIO-S: May 2009
App + Docs to Buffalo: October 2009
File Transferred to Detroit: April 2010

Just wondering if anyone with similar time line have had their files transferred to Detroit or any other Visa Office recently. I know a few of the regulars on this thread (e.g. Pro1) has similar time line to me.

Also, for those who've had their file transferred to Detroit in 2010: any idea how long it takes them to start processing?

rahmanrahat,

I have the same time line as yours. So far have not heard any thing. I am glad that they start to look at our application at last. I hope this would be promising for us. Lets keep posting

Congrats. I'm trying to figure out why some files move faster than the normal timeline. I think it has something to do with noc. Computer technicians or accountants move faster, I guess.

Hi Googleman,
Not sure how you got Accounting / Computing; I actually work in Public Relations. Can't remember the NOC, but it was in group 12, so would have been something like 12XX
