This also proves that Ottawa can respond in a very short period.

Actually, i just got a voice message today by phone from the lady in Ottawa regarding my medicals in response to my voice message which i left them last week containing my name, file number, visa office, and all of my information (because i contacted them twice, direct phone call with the lady, and left a message the second day).

The message was saying the following:

"You should contact your visa office, they have everything they need from our office", so i think they sent my results to Buffalo.

CONGRATS,

You will get a PP request any momemt....keep watching u'r mail....

I was shocked to hear that you did not get anything from that lady at your first call. Ottawa is very diligent… Now that you know that your medical is in Buffalo would you send them a small note? I will not suggest you to call them.
Cheers,

No, actually i am not going to contact Buffalo before one month from now, just to make sure that i allow them enough time to move to the next step in my application, because i know that they have many applications other than mine, and are not going to reply properly if i contact them in the wrong time.

Great! Enjoy your moment untill then.

professional 1 - good to know that you are seeing some progress. I am out of town for the last 4 days. seeing so many posts from our friends here.

I am not sure if my medicals has reached Ottawa. I need to check the status when I get back to my place. I do not have my tracking number handy.

Yes actually i noticed, and first time when called her directly, she did not give me any information or even allowed me to give her any information about my medicals. She just said, it is not a public enquiry number, bla bla bla.., and told me to contact my visa office saying that it takes from 1 to 3 months to send the results to the visa office.

I called again the day after, and the answering machine replied, so i left a message containing my information and asking for conformation. after, 6 days, i got today morning a phone call (missed call with a message left), and the message was saying the above words.

"""" Citizenship and Immigration Canada staff work at locations around the world. Officers in Canadian embassies, high commissions and consulates process applications abroad for permanent residence for people wishing to immigrate to Canada.

The tables below show the number of months that were required to approve or refuse applications at visa offices around the world.

The length of time it takes to finalize applications may be different at different visa offices.

Past processing times may not indicate the length of time it will take to finalize applications in the future. """""

When does this processing time actually starts, like 8 months for buffalo,
the day the visa office recieves the file or the day the status changes to in process on e-cas.???
anybdy on it??

It should be the date of receipt in the visa office, but New Delhi counts that time from the date of receipt at the CIO not even the visa office.

Buffalo, from the date of receipt at the visa office starting with applications received on this year 2010, and not 2008 or rearly 2009.

In general, all cases are supposed to be finalized within the 6 to 12 months time frame, unless there are any problems with the cases individually, or the crap called: "request for information from other offices/ governments" pops up suddenly.

Yes, and if you have noticed on trackitt, many late 2009 applications transfered from Buffalo to the other local visa offices got refused, but normally we do not pay any attention to those cases, as we are under the impression that only approved applications are "finalized", and therefore, pay most of the attention to the successfully moving cases.

If you count the time taken to those refused applications (which are considerd processed & finalized), you will notice that they took 6 and 8 months to be finalized "refused".
