Guys fresh update.... I was on a trip to Buffalo and New York for the Independence Day long weekend. I came back to see that medical and RPRF request from Buffalo was lying in my mail-box. They could have come on 2nd July or 3rd Jul, letter was dated 30th June. I guess, so my next mission is to get an appointment from the DMP.

My friend, I am happy for you! My heartfelt wishes.. finish off the medicals soon.

As per fedex tracking, my passport has reached NY visa office today morning. I need to start checking my return mail status from tomorrow.

Do applicants all over the world have to send the medical reports to Ottawa or only those who applied from Buffalo, USA? Thanks!

Hi Lovebb,
There is a specific regional medical center for each region.
Ours happens to be in Ottawa.

Thanks, Honolulu! Now I feel much better. Otherwise, there were 250,000 new immigrants to Canada every year, so at least 250,000 sets of medical forms could flood in Ottawa, which would be a disaster.

Hi guys,

I REALLY NEED help on this one:

Anyone know how to take Greyhound from Detriot to Toronto???
I am planning/exploring the possibility ( I will ship out most of my limited stuff) and then take Greyhound bus to Toronto.
Love to know what happens at the port of entry and how long does it take, does the bus wait till the whole thing is completed and stuff like that....

Guys help out and welcome ur 2c...

Hey Friends,

I did my medicals today in Canada. Spouse and child completed their's from India yesterday. No complications, pretty basic stuff. Cost me less than $200 in Canada.

Cheers,
A.

Hey OrangeC,

I think we both have same case scenario, the only difference is that i m in US and spouse in Pakistan. I also have received medical. Any idea how this will work after medical. how we'll submit PPR for the Spouse

Please Advice .....

Congrats Garian,

Could you please elaborate what is "pre-assessed" ? I noticed in your profile that you are pre-assessed.

Thanks

My family will probably join me in Canada before the PPR comes through. I'm planning to send out our passports by fedex to a friend in the US who will then send it to the New York consulate. When we get the passports back, we're expecting to drive-out to the border, get flag-poled and 'land' back on the PR. But I think it's illegal to send the passport across the border. Not sure if my plan will work. I don't have a valid visa to enter the US either. That would put us in a fix. Will keep you posted in this thread.

Also, guys. I told the DMP that I smoke. Wonder if that was a mistake. That alone shouldn't be grounds for rejection, would it?

Dear Buffalo-mates :),

Hope everyone is doing great..!! I need your comments on the expected PR time-line, below is the latest status from the Canada PR portal.

Hey CanadaCanada,

It looks like you got the PPR from Detroit only 2 weeks after your DMP sent your medical forms. Great! Did they send your PP and visa back already? Thanks!
