Guys, fresh update, status changed to "In Process" today for me. So, I guess my processing will contiinue in Buffalo with no transfer. Here is the latest status comment:
We received your application for permanent residence on September 28, 2009.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on November 30, 2009. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application and supporting documents were received by the Buffalo office. They are pending review.

We transferred your application to the Buffalo office on December 10, 2009. The Buffalo office may contact you.

Your application was reviewed and we started processing on June 18, 2010.

Thank God I got my visa last friday. Buffalo received my passport on June 9th and send it back June 17th. The turnaround was faster than the 15 days they claim. I pray for all of you, my Buffalo buddies, to get your visas faster.

Absolutely great news!! So looks like, you had a 4 week turnaround after you sent your medicals (or rather your DMP did). Is there a way to find out, when exactly your DMP sent the medicals? Do keep us posted on the turnaround time after the passports are sent. Looks like there is a lot of randomness on that timeline as well.

F1. I'm on my OPT.

You have to follow the same US visa app procedures. For H1B visa, you need an US employer to sponsor you and for f-1 you need admission to a US school.

I believe if your case doesn't get transferred, then you should have an update by July 20, God willing

yea ,i think soo,but this transfer thing ,i don't know if it's good or not...but u just hope it gets really quickly..
i'll be celebing my birthday next months (lols)may be dis wud be the prefect gift for me.....

Update!

I got my medicals today. The letter was dated June 17th.

Does this mean my case has been approved? If the medicals ago through fine, is there any other reason the case might be rejected. Just trying to cover my bases here!

Also when I receive the PPR, does anyone know if I am allowed to send my passport directly to the visa office in US from Canada? I live in Canada now and US is not my residence anymore. But I haven't updated the visa office about this change since my address in their records is my lawyer's address. Or should I send the passport to a friend in the US and ask him to fedex it over?
