Hi bethy,

1. Your FULL application has now been transferred to your VO (Ecas -RBVO) and is awaiting the Visa officer to begin his scrutiny/examination of your papers (in other words - pending review from Visa officer).
I hope you have send (mailed) the documents required by VO (Request made in April by VO).

2.Once the assessment is complete, you will be asked for Medical exam and also for Police certificates. So,if you don't want to loose time you may want to begin planning for acquiring your PCC.

3. They also indicate that the total processing time to have your PP stamped with VISA will be approximately 3 months from the date you received the reply to your inquiry (you have not mentioned the date in your post).

Oh, that was a quick reply from your VO Bethy...within a day!!

Generally PCC are valid for a year when it reaches the VO. Your PCC was sent in September 2010 and is likely to expire in Sept 2011 and thus the probability for you to get fresh PCC is apparent. In your case they are predicting to finalize your application within 3 months which is by November 2011so your PCC should not dated after Nov,2011.

Now, when you get fresh PCC's it should not be more than 3 months old when your VO receives it. IMO, you can initiate the process to acquire your PCC by the end of this month or early Sept and have it ready when asked by VO. As you know FBI certificate is now taking approx 6-8 weeks to process (that is in case you need it for yourself/spouse/dependents over 18yr of age have lived in US for over 6 months).

Yes, you can get your police cert before it is requested by VO...just have to be cautious about the validity period.

Do you think the visa quotas for the current year has been exhausted and thats why NDVO has slowed down? I remember around in March, April, May there was good news nearly everyday from NDVO applicants. Now I hardly hear anyone. Whats up?

Thanks a lot for the detailed reply. Yes, i am planning to move to GTA only, will drive from US and so your information is relevant. I think i can complete all other things except the OHIP card since i will not be staying there for long. I will apply for OHIP once i move permanently next spring 2012. I have 5 years driving experience in US, do you think this would be enough to get directly the "G" license. Shall i get the letter from insurance company or DMV from USA? Do you think i can accomplish all the tasks except OHIP in 2 weeks.

yep!! you can finish these things in 2 weeks. Please do your research on items that you want to finish in 2 weeks.

For ex: if you are staying in a hotel which is far away from DL office, then it could be a trouble because for you to finish the DL work here, you should be in the line from 6:30 Am or 7 Am to finish the work same day. Its freaking rush here. Expect the que as in India.
