Hi dear my friend, i am new in this forum.i just have a question. I have applied in September 2010 and my visa office is Sydney (Australia). until now i have not received medical exam.i sent an email to visa office and they replied to me :
"Your application is with a Visa Officer pending review. The documentation requested from you in April were required by the Visa Officer so a formal selection decision could be made on your application. If this a positive selection you will be asked to undergo a medical examination and provide and police certificates for the assessment of your admissibility to Canada.
It is not possible to provide an exact processing time for the completion of your application, however it would appear to require a minimum of 3 months from this point in time."

could you please anybody tell me what does that mean? what is the meaning of pending review?
thanks

Hi Sagar,

I had post my reply to your question on pg 2829. Re-posting the response.

hi msagar,

Yes, you can apply for student visa whilst you are in RBVO status. Canada Immigration allows "Dual Intent". One has to be a little careful though when you apply for student visa. When you apply be sure to

The following is normally what you would attach with your application:( I am sure you already know this)
1. Show evidence that you have been selected (of course!) for the course.
2. Have enough monetary evidence to support you throughout the period of the course.
3. Show sponsorship evidence
4. Show living expenses

You will have to show strong ties with your home country which can be your family, property or any kind of document which will prove that you will go back to your home country, like an offer letter from any Institution. You may also want to provide reference that you have a PR application in Process (which they will find out themselves, anyways).

VO's are getting very strict with student visas these days as the visas are being utilised/misused as a means for entry into Canada. These people would gain entry in Canada through St Visa and then find job and work....which unfortunately was not the purpose of the Visa.
So, if you show your genuine willingness to pursue the course of your choice by making a payment for the 1st semester, then the VO may be inclined to issue ST Visa. The choice is yours of course.

Mitali
Thank you very much Mitali for your great advise.

Hi bethy,

1. Your FULL application has now been transferred to your VO (Ecas -RBVO) and is awaiting the Visa officer to begin his scrutiny/examination of your papers (in other words - pending review from Visa officer).
I hope you have send (mailed) the documents required by VO (Request made in April by VO).

2.Once the assessment is complete, you will be asked for Medical exam and also for Police certificates. So,if you don't want to loose time you may want to begin planning for acquiring your PCC.

3. They also indicate that the total processing time to have your PP stamped with VISA will be approximately 3 months from the date you received the reply to your inquiry (you have not mentioned the date in your post).
