sonir, i observed that the ecas status changed to IN PROCESS for most of the application after 4.5 to 5.5 months from the date of application filed...so lets keep fingers crossed....

guys..any idea why the embassy is taking so much time in returning the passports..i read in forum..ppl are waiting for their passports for 3-4 months...90 days etc etc...we also sent our passports on 19th may 2011 n still waiting...any guesses why embassy is taking so much time in returning passports????????????????????

Coz. most of the visa officers were on leave . Also there is tremendous rush for Students visa for september batch. It also varies from case to case depending on travel history background check etc.

3-4 months is reasonable from medicals to issue of visa for most visa offices (we are approaching 3 months from medicals and it will certainly be 3 months when we actually have the visa) - so taking 3 months is probably about right. It's just New Delhi's system which is unique - you save a few weeks not having to send your passport off after they are ready to issue the visa, but then you are without your passports for several months.

Hi Partirajya,
One main document to show your marriage status is the passport, please ensure your spouse name is added to the passport specially if you have no kids.
Kids are the greatest proof you can show specially as the kids passport would have the father and mother name in it, if you have kids then no need to worry else VO might asks for marriage proof (DVD's), certificates and may even call you for in person interview to prove your relationship.
