Congratulations and celebrations Danishsoomro for your much awaited Visa from London VO (The 1st). Wishing you all the BEST in your future endeavors. Wishing you a good life in the city and country of your dreams.

Hopefully, the jinx with London VO and all other sleeping VO's will be broken with this good news.

All the best.
Regards.

Mitali

Congratulations, Danish! Smooth landings at YVR in September. A beautiful month to arrive when the holiday makers are gone, the little darlings are back to school and the weather is warm and gentle.
I hope this opens the floodgates for the rest of the patient, and patience-tried, London VO'ers.

Congrats!!!! ;D Hope to meet in Vancouver someday!

I can bravely say " welcome to Canada " :D

Coming to the visa picture, ofcourse it is a normal visa like any visa you take for canada with no picture on it ;D You will have your photo sticked to the COPR at the bottom side of the page 8)

See you in canada God's willing ;)

Congratulations!

I think it is normal the visa in the back of the passport has no picture - they use the picture for the PR card after you have landed.

We are also planning to settle in Vancouver, and hoping to land end of August (we have a 2 week holiday booked for then). However, still waiting PPR - bank drank seems not to be cashed, medicals line is not on ECAS after 7 weeks of being received, so it's all looking very slow at the moment!

Anyway great to hear you got your visa ok. Did you have to queue long?

I updated your row on the spreadsheet, good to see the visa colour at London!

Wayne.

1. Don't you expect to have to support your family permanently? The government do not want immigrants who cannot support themselves so welfare is not readily available.
2. You can't.
3. The same as anywhere with such a qualification. Do you have a job where you are now? Then look for the same in Canada. The website will tell you all about vacancies and potential earnings in different locations.
4. Anywhere is a good place for new immigrants with a job, but everywhere is costly to live if you have no income and a family in tow.
Newfoundland is much cheaper than places like Vancouver for living expenses, but there will be fewer jobs and probably less rental accommodation than in more populous areas like Toronto.

If you are concerned about the job situation, do some research yourself on the internet and telephone potential employers.
If you are worried about the money I would also advise you to either -
*postpone landing until you have saved up more money or
*go on a recce trip b]without [/b]your family and get a job so that you can be sure of being able to support them and get them to arrive later.

You cannot expect to turn up in a new country and then claim money to support your family from a government you have never paid any taxes to. That would be most unfair >:(
Well said.................+1
