Hi, everyone...
I sent my application by courier to CIC on May 26th 2011 complete with all documents, and fee payment with mastercard debit card, and I am yet to receive any reply concerning my application. My debit card has not been encashed, and I have not received any acknowledgement.
I am getting very worried, but not yet chewing at my fingernails.
What is the next step that I should take? Is there any other person on this forum who has a similar problem? My NOC is 3111, My visa office is Accra, and I applied from Lagos, Nigeria.
Pls, someone reply and tell me what to do.....I am sitting at the edge of my seat right now, eyes glued to the screen....

Dear ekundapsy

Hi! Hope you will receive some news from CIO as it's not late at all in your case. PER's come in at least 30-35 days and longer and even much longer. So keep cool. As for your payment, I would say don't worry about using a debit card. In my country, there's no credit card available and all we can get is debit cards. I know quite a number of my friends who have appplied post 26 June with their dedit cards( mostly Visa) and all have received their file numbers. I don't think there's any difference between credit cards and debit cards in terms of encashment by CIO. Of course it is always safer to pay by bank draft or money order than to pay by cards, but credit card I believe bears to advantage to debit in this case. Please be patient as it is still 2 weeks since you applied and may be less since your package was delivered, and keep checking your card for encashment. Hopefully everything will be fine.

Good Luck! ;)

I am honestly not feeling positive right now...cause all the checks i did online suggest that a decision made on ecas before passport requets is a rejection...

Ah i didn't noticed you haven't got PPR. Anyways don't be worried, it could be a error.

Hi there,

Don't worry. We all believe that decision made before medicals means rejection not before passport request. Is that not right friends?

Besides , Ecas server was down last night for a few hours. There might be some error .

Hi, Mitali...
Thank you so much for your reply...
I didn't really take that into consideration, I must have misread the whole fee application instructions.
But one of my friends in Nigeria here actually used a Prepaid Visa Card (which is also a debit card) to process his own application before the 26/6 rules last year, and it was accepted, that was why I used my own debit card....pity....
Well, I hope that my application is sent back on time, so that I can reuse the documents before time lapses on them. I will have to wait until July to reapply anyway, since my NOC is almost full.
At least, now, I know what the possible problem could be..... :(

Thanks!!! Just hoping it is an error now :(

And I hope it means the visa is ready to be stamped and they have added the line in a haste before you have received the PPR. Let's keep fingers crossed! ;)

Hello Friends Just need to confirm one thing from you guys.

All the guys who recieved PER, does their PER include following

Based on a review of the information you have provided, your application has received a positive final determination of eligibility for processing on the basis of work experience in an occupation specified in the Instructions issued by the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism and published in the Canada Gazette on June 26, 2010.

i am asking this just to confirm that if SURELY there will be another Eligibility review by VO...or VO will just do the security/background checks only.

Regards,
Salman

I am asking this because the word FINAL has been used in the statement.

Buddy, seems that you haven't read my previous post to you. It's not the card problem. It's even way too early to expect some news let alone any problem. Don't worry! ;) Keep checking your card and try to exercise some patience. Would be of great help during immigration process. ;)

Based on what we have seen from VO's so far, there will be another review in the visa office. We had cases who got their PER's but were rejected later in VO,even due to lack of sufficient points. VO even count the points and assess your job duties against their criteria and then decide whether or not to put your file "In Process." CIO didn't mean it ??? when they put the word "Final"! :-\

Wish for a safe cruise for everone!

Hi ekundapsy,

Your concern and worry is understandable. As 9jcanada has mentioned in his post many applicants have had to wait for a very long period to get the 1st eligibility results.

Having said that, what I am concerned about is the "Mode of payment" adopted by you which is Mastercard DEBIT card. I dont think DEBIT card is acceptable, only CREDIT cards/ Certified checks/MO/Bank draft will be allowed.

You may want to double check the usage of DEBIT card and if that's a mistake (hopefully not) then you still have time to send in another application before the new rules are implemented on 1st July.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5620E.pdf

@ 9jcanada - What do you think?

Just wanted to add that the current timeline for encashing credit card/MO etc is approximately 7-10 days.

Regards.

Mitali

congrats 9j for ur long awaiting PER.
Happy to see u turn blue after long wait.
Good luck!

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for the congratulatory messages. I know its only a PER but given the circumstances, it was one worthy of celebration. Your best wishes and thoughts are well appreciated. It goes to show how much we've all formed some kind of bonds here on the forum. Long may it last. We had a minor celebration yesterday, wife conviscated the Phone and the iPad so I couldn't have access to the internet :) and when I opened my inbox this afternoon I realize I've got up to a dozen pms and about 20 pages of the forum to catch up with. So please pardon me people for my late response.

I feel so better now. Had the scan this morning and now just back home a few hours ago. I will be back at the consultant outpatient on Wednesday morning for follow up. I know there will be no problem. I think I've put myself under a lot of stress of late, impending professional exam in Canada in 3 weeks, ongoing work pressure, not to mention the PER/NER anxiety; but I think I need to put all of that aside now and look after myself. Well, what better way to start than celebrating the good news received yesterday. I've learnt to let 'tommorow' take care of itself.

Thanks for everyone who has sent us greetings: Pippin, Bistofi49, Loiuse -01, Indira, shalom, ozonezone, ira.s, montycan, wenstumped, mikey 2010, varismart, spokes, viktoria, hariranjith, katyspring, silent and everyone I might have ommitted.

I wish us the best of all our dreams and may we find happiness as we do so.

9j

When we reapply do we let know CIC? as we already have a file number for the previous application.
Please those who reapplied and seniors share ur views.....
