Wayne,

I'm talking about months here. The names that I mentioned are in RBVO for 3 months !!
Don't know what's going on.

More likely it is lag in updating ECAS. Some applicants files will start processing before ECAS updates, sometimes weeks before.

Can anyone throw some light----

Suppose I get my Canadian PR status in November 2011.. AND if I get 3 years postgraduate medical residency training( on J1 studies Visa) in USA starting in JULY 2012 and finishing in June 2015.. It will be complete 3 years studies in USA (i.e. 3 years out of Canada) except 15 days leave per year...Then I will not be able maintain my PR status (2yrs compulsory stay in Canada iout of 5yrs).

Is there any way out to maintain my PR status in Canada ?

Spokes,

Just in case you missed my earlier post, we're talking about those applicants who have seen some activity on their application but are still RBVO instead of 'In Process'. I am not necessarily complaining about the length of time they are in RBVO or I would have mentioned my name as well.

To have lived in canada for 2 out of 5 years is the basic requirement to maintain your PR status......I don't know how could you escape this.

Chk ur inbox.

Hi Positive
Why are you finding it difficult. You can enter in November and stay until July in Canada , and once the residency starts you can go to US finish ur residency and be back to canada. Both way you will be lucky .
Any way congrats for the residency. Did you match this year or you planning for the coming match?

None whatsoever. If you do not stay in Canada for 730 days during the 5 years after you complete your record of landing, you will lose your residency status.

Isn't "term time" usually September to June? Would you not be able to stay in Canada in between "years" to boost the number of days you spent there? Bottom line is to be a Canadian resident you've got to reside in Canada! I think they are being very lenient only insisting on 2 years out of every 5, to be honest, so I think the rules regarding this are very fair.

Please stop spamming the same identical post over and over again on many different threads. This is at least the 4th time you've spammed this same message on this thread alone.

People have already advised you as best they can - you are just going to have to wait to hear, like everyone else.
