Hey Wayne/Anil/Indira,

Need your advise!

One of my friend got her Medicals/RPRF/PPR on 21st instant. Now, its similar to our situation her daughter has also new born photo in her passport, but visa office has not requested for change of photo as like us nor they have requested to renew her daughter's passport since it is expiring on 18, July.2011. It was somewhere mentioned in the process I remember that one has to have the minimum one validity of the passport before sending it to Visa office.

Now, In this situation what will you advise her? she should continue with the same passports & send the required documents to CHC or she renew her daughter's passport and then send it to CHC.

Ya!! One thing also noted that their passport (P.A & spouse) is also getting expired in the month of Nov'11.

Anticipating & awaiting a quick suggestion.

Hello Raj,

I would suggest all of the passports to have minimum 1 year validity while sending it for stamping to be on the safer side :). You never know if CIC will ask to renew them before stamping. Even if they do not request for that, and stamp AS - IS, they will have to land before the passport expires, which is NOV 2011. Supposing it takes until July to stamp their passports(worst cases), they will be left with less than 4 months to land.

It's always safe to renew the passports before sending to CHC for stamping. We have heard a case where CHC said the applicant's photo is too different from the current one, and he had to renew it before stamping.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Thanks Indira for your quick reply.. :) :)

But, please note her daughter's passport is expiring on 18 July'11. So it means they have to land before the above date, subject they will get their passports stamp by that time... Correct?

Oops, i missed that :(. In that case, they MUST get it renewed before sending it to CHC. I don't think they can get it stamped with less than 6 months validity.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

I just checked the FBI website and there is an update in terms of processing. It is now supposed to take up to six weeks. I hope this is for real.

It says on the FBI website "Note: Although the FBI employs the most efficient methods for processing these requests, processing times may take up to six weeks depending on the volume of requests received."

so it MAY TAKE UP TO six weeks depending on the volume of requests. It is not necessary that it will take six weeks for sure to process. ;)
