Hey Wayne/Anil/Indira
Just wanted to know if its required to get my husband's engineering degree assessed by "Engineers Canada" b4 we leave for Canada ? He is a telecom engineer with Ericsson India and has a BE degree in Electronics & Instrumentation.....I read an article stating that this profession is not regulated in canada.....
I would like to hear your opinions....
Thanks,
Shareen

Hi Shareen,

That would be great to have his credentials assessed by an authorized organization before moving to Canada. It will definitely be of some help in finding employment, even if his occupation is not regulated there. That will at least give an idea of what his qualifications are, when compared to the Canadian standards to the prospective employers.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Thanks Indira, you are always so kind. I also returned from UK in Jan, 2005!

I guess that I will have to get new PCCs, now just wait for further notice. BTW, my file starts with E00.

Cheers!

Hey Pharmacy1,
Now that the CIO is doing the eligibility review, there is a chance that they accept it(some members out here haven't sent them university sealed transcripts and still got a PER)
Thanks,
Indira Prabhakaran.

I sent ordinary copy of all degrees and transcripts and I got my per, Even sending originals for me it would be easier than notarizing copys or sending sealed degrees and transcripts because notarizing should be done to every document from same authority that issued it , the routine is a miss specially when you are working abroad.
I was afraid that you will not get these originals back so I took the risk and sent copies, but as the reply says they will be returned then sending the originals sealed or notarized copies is ok if it's easier for you

thanks

Hey dream011882,

First of all Congrats on the good news :)

But don't u think it would be better if your wife delivers in manila before u leave for canada....its a gr8 moment and she would definitely want your/her family around...

But if your wife delivers before the visa is issued, then you should intimate manila VO regarding the birth of your child....

1. your baby's notarised birth certificate copy
2. notarised passport copy
3. required photographs as per specification
4. Additional Family Information [IMM 5406] and IMM0008 (2nd Page - Family Members details)
5. Application processing fees (150 CAD)

Hope this helps :)

All the best :)

Thanks,

Shareen
