Guys, guess we got some clue over the file numbers theory :)

So, usually CIO only gives B05 number and that is changed to a E00 number by the VO after the eligibility review? And that some of us are lucky to get that E00 number form the CIO itself?

Some of our members also confirmed that they have both the numbers and some are not able to check the ECAS status with the B05, but they can with their E00?

Hi nsukan,
Thanks for the reply but i am still confused for "File Transfer" date cos when i look at other people's dates they have mentioned its showing only 5-6 days of difference between Doc's Request and File Transfer date.
And in my scenario:
App Filled : 8-Apr-2010
Doc's Request : 21-June-2010
Then I submitted all my docs and received an acknowledgement Receipt dated 18-Nov-2010 stating "This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada which was received on 04/08/2010 (mm/dd/yyyy). We confirm receipt of your application package at the visa office in New Delhi."
(where my CHC File number is changed from Bxxxxxxx (number given by case processing center in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada) to some Exxxxxxx)
So is this date 18-Nov-2010 my File Transfer number?(where my CHC File number is changed from Bxxxxxxx (number given by case processing center in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada) to some Exxxxxxx)

Kindly help.
CDB

At least that was the case with me. I got the E number with the PER. I had been assigned the B number before now. And of course with the E number, I could access e-cas easily.

Hi Cay_sha:

I was under the impression that if you are an FSW applicant that you cannot move to Quebec, I believe for a few years... That is why Quebec has their own application and procedures. Am I wrong?

Edit: Intended City Toronto

Dear spreadsheet Admins

Can you please amend my details on the spreadsheet:

File Number E00

E-cas status - Not available

Thank you :)

So, looks like EVERYONE will have both the B05 and E00 numbers, although B05 loses it's importance once the file is in VO and that VO will issue a E00 number once they receive and start to process the file.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.
