I can understand if they ask extra proofs of common in law relationship as a part of BC, but why would they need an employment contract that is already submitted? Have they asked for the original contract?

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

They have asked for copies... :-X
I was surprised they haven't asked for new PCC, because those we've sent to CIO expired in January...

Hi made711:

Glad they are giving you a chance to quickly supply the additional info... and I suppose Congrats on your 2nd AOR, although you actually did not receive one, the communication from your VO may act as a 2nd AOR IMO...

May I ask, what is your ECAS status?
Cam

I can't check my status on e-cas...

Hey, guys...

I've just got e-mail from my VO with a request to send employment contracts and proofs of common-law relationship in order to continue processing our application. We have two months to send this.

This is wonderful news, congratulations!

Sorry to hear that... Regarding the additional info, I find it strange if they are asking you to send the same copies again, my guess is, they are maybe asking for further proof ??

Also, are you sure the email you have received is from your Vienna VO and not from CIO?

The CIC never fails to surprise us with every step of theirs :) Why on earth would they want a copy of the same document submitted earlier to them?

Looks like this thread is cursed with theory-mania :P :P We can never stop theories here.. Not until we receive our visas :)

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

I mean this with respect but unless you sent them 9 month old PCCs they won't have expired in January. Although they can be no older than 3 months when they first reach CIC (either CIO or VO as applicable), once CIC have them they are valid for 1 year.

So if you got the PCCs in August they will be valid until August 2011.

Hi Cay_sha:

I was under the impression that if you are an FSW applicant that you cannot move to Quebec, I believe for a few years... That is why Quebec has their own application and procedures. Am I wrong?

Cam

Edit: Intended City Toronto

well i guess that you're wrong :) If i have an PR card, i can move all over Canada - also to Quebec. I just have to land in another province. i called here: http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/reach/telephone.html
i was talking to a man who had immigrated to Montreal from Poland (amazing!) and he told me that i could even try to land in Quebec, but there is possibility that they won't let me in (and i'm going with my kids so i don't like this :)). Another thing i can do is landing in another province - immigration procedures are done at the airport and i'm canadian PR then. Im going to Quebec and i can live there. When i'm renting a house in Quebec i can apply for QSSW Certificate - usually it takes about 10 days to get it when i'm already there.

If you gained your PR via the Federal Skilled Worker programme then it is the Federal Government who is sponsoring your residency and you can live and work anywhere in Canada, including Quebec.

If you gained your PR via Provincial Nomination then it is the Provincial, rather than Federal, Government who is sponsoring your residency and you are supposed to only live and work in that province for a certain number of years, I think something like 3 years minimum. In reality they probably don't check and have no way to track it, but this is what you're supposed to do.

Quebec I believe are considering/trying to gain independence from the Federal government (can't link a source I just remember hearing about it), so if this ever happens the situation may change.

That's my understanding anyway?

Alberta also has certain other advantages. It is a debt-free province, and as a permanent resident you can full NHS and healthcare the moment you land, as opposed to most provinces where you have to wait 3 months before you can access the NHS system there.

We visited Calgary on our last holiday to Canada last year. My only real concern is that it is very dry, we had to use lipbalm and we were only there a couple of days. I guess you get used to it though :)

Wayne.

The advantage of dry weather I heard is that you do not have a lot of respiratory problems as wet weather places! but at the end not place is perfect! I think the most important thing is to know what you want for you and your family and to take the decision which place is the best according it!

P.S. Wayne could you change my intended settling destination to Edmonton, AB instead Just Alberta

Raj chandigarh's is the latest application with the ECAS 'Received by VO', so assuming at least all the applications submitted before him(20th Sep 2010) have reached the VOs?

I know the ECAS Goof up, but i strongly suspect, only the IN PROCESS status could be wrong, not the other statuses, specially starting this week onwards.

Almost all of the applications those PER were received in last year shows Received by VO or IN PROCESS. So, it's safe to assume that lot is already @ the VOs and under background checks by now.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

dear friends,

Congratulation to all who got PER and medical and any communication from their VO.

I am planning to settle down to Winnipeg MB, bcos i have some friends tehre and its a developing city and good job opportunity there. It dosent matter about the weather bcos once we settle there we will be used to it.

I am very eager to here from ND vo to have some good news.

And yes Dr. Hasib kindly in the spread sheet there are two type or name or ND VO one is New Delhi and another is N\Delhi so kindly change it to any one name bcos when we make filter it makes confuse to us.

Thanks

Our intended settling destination is Williams Lake, British Columbia.

Viktoria

I have a question and I know it might have been asked before but I can't seem to find any reference to it. Why are some names on the spreadsheet marked in red and bolded (on the tracking tab)?
