Hi guys,

Sorry if I got a bit frustrated yesterday with all the negs and things.

So anyway I decided to vent my frustration in a more productive manner and so I have decided to produce a Canada immigration blog.

This can be found at:
http://get2canada.wordpress.com

I hope it can become a central resource for all manner of very useful information. At the moment it's very much work in progress and I have just put a few useful bits on there so far - some explanation of acronyms, the PER wording and the process so far.

I am hoping to add more information about timelines and keep it up to date, also some FAQ.

Hopefully when people ask questions they can find all the answers there (eventually).

Wayne.

Good one Wayne, you are doing a great job here, the negs don't mean a thing, work of some idle mind.
Please note that I had submitted my PCC with application and PER states; receipt of payment dated 10th Sept, please do well to update my status on the spread sheet.

5 negs to me in last 2 days, may for JUST motivating wayne, not to bother about the same... :) :) :)

Don't sweat it I've had 11 negs in the past 36 hours.

Fairly sure some immigration lawyers/consultants don't like our helping people for free, and this pathetic level is the only way they can find to discourage us. Guess some of them are getting pretty desperate.

Thanks for your response Advance123 ,
I did send my IELTS original scorecard , Notarized Copies of my Educational docs, Education certificates(SSC) as Birthday proof- Which is generally used as Age proof in India ,
I have applied for transcripts but the university took almost 3 months to issue them( Hence could only send the notarized copies along with the application)

I received my file number as email reply from CIC few days back...
What do u think I should be doing.. Can I send the transcripts n birth certificates along with a covering letter...
Send them along with your IELTS and write a cover letter explaining your unique circumstances.
Regards

I think CIC has taken a pause in regards to PER as they have changed the policy in regards to IELTS. They are now reviewing this and sending additional requests to people who had submitted the Academic module.

I had send general IELTS, so i dont know why my application is stuck though.

I still do not understand why so many people submitted Academic IELTS results, when the instructions clearly stated that only General Training IELTS results were acceptable.

I would consider this move from CIO as a good one - since they have giving people a second chance to get the correct results in. And I think if you get such a request it is very good news because it means you will get PER as long as the results are ok. Admittedly it will delay things by a couple of months, but with the place in the NOC cap assured I don't see this being a big obstacle.

A quick query to all:
Typically, how long does VO take to return ur passport once u submit it for affixing the visa? Say PP reaches the VO on Day 1 -- Can we expect to get it back by Day 15 or so.....or even longer??.....or is it at the mercy of luck??.....

I know we are still a long way from this stage but I may be out of the home country for work around that time (roughly based on typical timelines)......As I can't send my PP from abroad for this and if I dont know the expected timeline to get this process done, it's difficult to plan everything ......I know it's unlikely but is it possible to get it done by personally visiting the VO once u receive the PP request??

Look fwd to ur replies.

Varies from visa office to visa office and depends on individual backlog. For London visa office it seems to range from 2 weeks to 2 months depending on which time of year you sent them. Don't really have any info for the other visa offices. I certainly wouldn't rely on getting your visa within 2 weeks of PPR.

You can personally deliver the passports to VO, and you can also personally collect them once they are ready I believe, and this may save some small postage time. But it will not make visa office issue your visa any faster.
